Instead of creating tasks one by one, Workly lets you paste a list of tasks and creates them all at once. This is a massive time-saver when migrating from another tool or adding multiple items from meeting notes.
How to bulk create tasks
- Copy a list of items (from a document, email, notes, or any text)
- Click the Add Task input in your project
- Paste the text (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V)
- Workly detects multiple lines and shows a dialog
- Choose:
- Create multiple tasks — One task per line
- Create single task — All text as one task name
- Click to confirm
What gets created
Each line of text becomes an individual task in the current section. Tasks are created with default status and no assignee — you can set these afterwards.
Works for subtasks too
The same paste-to-create feature works in the subtask input. Paste multiple lines in a task’s subtask section to create multiple subtasks at once.
Tips
- Each line should be a separate task name
- Empty lines are skipped
- Lines exceeding 255 characters are flagged before creation
