Workly makes it easy to duplicate tasks, sections, and entire projects. This is useful when you have recurring work, templates, or similar setups that you want to replicate without starting from scratch.
Duplicate a task
- Open the task you want to duplicate
- Click the more options menu (three dots)
- Select Duplicate
- Choose what to copy:
- Full copy — Structure, hierarchy, all fields, properties, attachments, and comments
- Basic copy — Structure and hierarchy only, without attachments or comments
- Click Duplicate
The duplicated task appears in the same section with “(Copy)” appended to the name. All subtasks are duplicated as well.
Duplicate a section
Duplicating a section copies all the tasks within it:
- Right-click on the section header
- Select Duplicate Section
- Choose full copy or basic copy
This is useful for sprint planning — duplicate last sprint’s section and update the tasks for the new sprint.
Duplicate a project
Duplicate an entire project with all its sections, tasks, and structure:
- Open the project’s Settings
- Click Duplicate Project
- Choose full copy or basic copy
- The new project is created with “(Copy)” in the name
This is ideal for creating project templates — set up a project with all the standard sections and tasks, then duplicate it each time you need a new instance.
