After creating custom columns in Workly, you can edit their settings, modify options, and delete them when they’re no longer needed.
Edit a custom field name
- Click the column header of the custom field in List view
- Select Edit Field
- Change the field name
- Click Save
Edit select options
For Single Select and Multi Select fields, you can manage the available options:
Add new options
- Open the field editor
- Click Add Option
- Enter the option name
- Choose a colour using the colour picker
Edit existing options
- Click on an option in the field editor
- Change the name or colour
- Changes apply to all tasks using that option
Delete options
- Click the delete icon next to an option
- The option is removed from all tasks that had it selected
Change option colours
Each select option can have a custom colour. Click the colour swatch next to an option to open the colour picker. Choose any colour — it appears as the background colour of the option chip in your task list.
Delete a custom field
- Click the column header of the field
- Select Delete Field
- Confirm the deletion
Warning: Deleting a custom field permanently removes the column and all its data from every task in the project. This action cannot be undone.
Reorder columns
Drag column headers in List view to reorder them. Put the most important columns first for easier scanning.
Hide columns
Don’t want to see a column but want to keep its data? Use the Attribute Visibility dialog to hide it instead of deleting it. Hidden columns retain all their data.
