Organise your task list in Workly by grouping tasks. Group by status, priority, assignee, section, or any custom column to get the view that works best for you.
Group by options
Click the Group By button in the project toolbar to choose a grouping:
- Section — Default grouping by project sections
- Status — Group tasks by their status (To Do, In Progress, Done, etc.)
- Priority — Group tasks by priority level (Urgent, High, Medium, Low, None)
- Assignee — Group tasks by who they’re assigned to
- Custom columns — Group by any Single Select or Multi Select custom field
How grouping works
When you select a grouping option, tasks are reorganised into collapsible groups based on the selected field. Each group shows:
- The group label (e.g. status name, assignee name)
- The count of tasks in that group
- All tasks belonging to that group
Collapse and expand groups
Click any group header to collapse or expand it. This lets you focus on specific groups while hiding others.
None grouping
Select None to remove grouping and show all tasks in a flat list.
Grouping with filters
Group By works alongside filters. You can filter tasks first, then group the filtered results for even more control over what you see.
