Every task in Workly has a comments and activity section where your team can discuss the task and track all changes over time.
Add a comment
- Open a task
- Scroll to the Activity section at the bottom
- Type your comment in the input field
- Click Send or press Enter
Mention team members
Type @ in a comment to mention a team member. They’ll receive a notification so they can respond quickly. Only project members appear in the mention suggestions.
Emoji reactions on comments
React to comments with emojis to quickly acknowledge or respond. Click the emoji icon on any comment to pick a reaction.
Activity log
The activity log tracks every change made to a task:
- Status changes — Who changed the status and when
- Priority changes — Priority updates with timestamps
- Assignee changes — When the task was reassigned
- Due date changes — Deadline modifications
- Custom field changes — Updates to any custom column values
- Attachment additions — When files are attached
- Subtask changes — When subtasks are added or completed
The activity log provides a complete audit trail of everything that happened on a task, making it easy to understand the task’s history.
