Every task in Workly has a description field where you can add detailed information, instructions, and context using rich text formatting.

Open the description editor

  1. Click on a task to open the task detail panel
  2. Click the description area
  3. Start typing or editing

Formatting options

The description editor supports rich text formatting:

  • Bold, italic, and underline text
  • Headings and subheadings
  • Bullet lists and numbered lists

Auto-save

Descriptions are saved automatically as you type. There’s no need to click a save button — your changes are preserved in real time.

Collaborative editing

Multiple team members can view and edit task descriptions. Changes appear in real time for all project members viewing the same task.
