Every task in Workly has a status and a priority that help your team understand where work stands and what needs attention first.
Task statuses
- Not Started — Task has been created but work hasn’t begun
- In Progress — Someone is actively working on this task
- In Review — Task is complete and waiting for review
- Blocked — Task cannot proceed due to a dependency or issue
- On Hold — Task is paused temporarily
- Done — Task is completed
Change task status
Update a task’s status in multiple ways:
- Click the status indicator on any task in List or Board view
- Open the task and change status from the detail panel
- Drag and drop in Kanban view to move between status columns
Priority levels
- Urgent — Needs immediate attention
- High — Important, should be addressed soon
- Medium — Standard priority
- Low — Can be addressed when higher priority items are done
- No Priority — Priority not yet assigned
Set priority
Click the priority flag on any task to set or change its priority level. Priorities are colour-coded so you can scan your task list and immediately identify what’s urgent.
Filter by status and priority
Use the filter panel to show only tasks with specific statuses or priority levels. For example, filter for “Urgent” priority + “In Progress” status to see what critical work is being done right now.
Group by status or priority
Use the Group By option to organise your task list by status or priority, giving you a different perspective on your work.

What task statuses are available in Workly?
