Start a video call
- Open a direct message conversation
- Click the video camera icon in the chat header
- Workly connects the video call automatically
The recipient sees an incoming call notification with a video camera indicator and can choose to accept or decline.
Video call controls
During a one-to-one video call, you can:
- Toggle camera — Turn your video on or off
- Toggle microphone — Mute or unmute yourself
- Share screen — Share your entire screen or a specific window
- Select devices — Choose camera, microphone, and speaker
- Record — Record the video call
- End call — Hang up
Video is disabled by default when joining — enable your camera when you’re ready.
Device selection
Click the dropdown arrow next to the camera or microphone button to select a different device. Workly remembers your last selected video device for future calls.
Screen sharing during video calls
Click the screen share button to share your screen. You can share your entire screen, a specific application window, or a browser tab. Click the button again to stop sharing.
